On June 16, 2020, the ACLU of Vermont and its partners sent a letter to the Burlington School District's commissioners to voice concern about the unnecessary placement of school resources officers (SROs) in our schools, which studies show harms students, and to request that they seek alternatives to this practice in alignment with the district's restorative practices program.
